This not only destroys science, it destroys our body politic. When "the Family" supports a law in Uganda to kill gays and lesbians; when Catholic bishops help derail healthcare by pushing the Stupak amendment and when big money conspires to block global warming, resting on the insanity of conspiracy theories and religious delusions, we not only as a nation but as a SPECIES are in grave danger. Indeed, some activist friends have uncovered some of the seedy supporters of the HIV denialist movement--a movement that has literally resulted in the early deaths of thousands of South African men, women and children.

I'm not sure if the Koch brothers are xtians, but I'm sure they'll use them to their own vicious ends. For example, see
http://pr.thinkprogress.org and their report on the big money behind their effort.

It's a danger--one met as much on the secular side when science becomes transformed into little more than a marketing tool. Pharmaceutical companies provide ample evidence for this egregious behavior. The integrity of science, the scientific method, the joy of discovery are distorted and warped when turned to the service of generating profits.GMCarterhttp://www.fiar.usnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6571612235074696770.post-65849789191956663142009-12-08T09:13:52.199-05:002009-12-08T09:13:52.199-05:00No I haven't made the trip to KY yet... The diorama that shows dinosauers playing with cave-age kids, could have come right out of Disneyland.Stanley Krippnerhttp://www.stanleykrippner.weebly.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6571612235074696770.post-17041906521574495652009-12-07T14:31:11.245-05:002009-12-07T14:31:11.245-05:00GMCarter,

You should tell me how you really feel – your feelings don’t seem to come through in your comment.

Seriously, I’m right there with you. As I was watching this crap unfold on my TV, I had flashbacks of my youth; I found myself arguing with the TV, sort of like my grandfather use to do when a Steelers game wasn’t going the way he liked.

It’s very frustrating. I typically don’t blog too much about politics or fundamentalists, but in this case I needed to vent…

Thanks for your perspectives – and yes you’re absolutely right on the funding source.Johnnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04947292290232739954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6571612235074696770.post-22663178024853991792009-12-06T15:36:31.727-05:002009-12-06T15:36:31.727-05:00I wonder who funded this remarkable sounding docum...I wonder who funded this remarkable sounding documentary! Gosh, does Jesus write cheques? Maybe the Family helped out!
Gosh, gee heck whilickers! It reminds me of another really science-tifical fillum called the House of Numbnuts! Oops! Numbers! They get some bigwig sciency types to show how HIV not only doesn't exist, it don't cause AIDS! Heck, they interviewed a woman who had HIV and she was well! Til she died of AIDS which don't exist--and some scientists kinda said so--gosh, don't you know they're funded by right wing pyscho xtian fundy extremists, praise the hallelujah crap right outta ya.GMCarterhttp://www.fiar.usnoreply@blogger.com
